Through the use of awe inspiring artwork, this thought provoking production tells the story of the great American impressionists living in art colonies across the United States. Colonies such as Cos Cob and Old Lyme in Connecticut, Shinnecock in Long Island and Laguna Beach in California attracted inspired artists, young and old. Their experiences working together helped to create a uniquely American artistic aesthetic. Visually spectacular and painstakingly researched, this film reveals new insights into the lives and work of these extraordinary American artists.
