
The winner of The Kallis Foundation Documentary Grant Competition will receive a $1,000 grant.
In addition, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place entrants will have the opportunity to compete for a Master's Film Scholarship from the Albert and Trudy Kallis Foundation.
This grant competition is free-form. Entries to the competition can be on any subject and there are no restrictions on the running time.
Although this grant competition does not have specific requirements with respect to content or length, keep in mind, that great documentary programs have the following elements:
- Strong Characters…with Emotionally Charged Storylines…
which are active in the moment, not told in the past. - Entertainment and Informational Value:
The film should move and be entertaining both in its content, shooting style,
music and editing…and should also inform the viewer. - A Keep it Simple Approach:
the premise and storyline should be simple to follow. - Intriguing Visual Storytelling.
To enter the competition you must complete the on-line entry form. Upon completion you must print out your entry form and include it with your film submission.
Your film submission must be on DVD or VHS tape cued to the start of the program. All entries must be received by June 15, 2007 entry deadline, winner announced September 15, 2007. Please note that all entries become the property of The Albert & Trudy Kallis Foundation and we cannot be held responsible for any misdirected, lost or damaged competition entries.
